This is one of the many books I got for Christmas. I am excited to try out these recipes. I read the history about the author and how she started baking and I am a lot like her. I didn't start out wanting to bake but I have found that if I do it with a purpose, meaning for someone or something I love to do it. I enjoyed making the sugar cookies, gingerbread and chocolate cookies for our friends and family. Now, I want to try making pies.
When I was growing up my parents always made pumpkins pies for Thanksgiving. My dad is actually known for his pumpkin pies around the neighborhood. I had never really took interest in learning how to make them until a couple of years ago. I just loved to enjoy a slice for breakfast and again after the Thanksgiving meal. Now it's kind of a tradition that the day before thanksgiving we get together at my parents house and make pie crusts pumpkin filling and turn them into pies. I love it. It's a fun tradition that I hope we keep doing for years to come!
I love the quote on the side of my blog about accomplishments. I read it every time I think something may be too hard for me. I have learned a lot about myself when I think positively rather then negatively. I can do hard things! So, follow me on this pie making journey maybe YOU will find that every accomplishment starts with the decision to TRY.
